Exceptional communication skills are paramount to success in the workplace - lucky English is the study of communication. At Year 10 students continue to be given the opportunity to consolidate and to develop those skills to which they were exposed in Year 8 and 9.
Students will continue to be taught and practise writing types with continued emphasis on essay structure, articulation of communication and analysis of texts. This will again be complemented with continued focus and development of students’ basic skills of spelling, vocabulary extension, grammar and comprehension. Students will be exposed to a variety of classic and everyday texts including novels, drama, poetry, magazines, newspaper articles and film.
Overall English aims to create a more articulate, astute and analytical student.
